Could you lead your Union?

The Students’ Union Elections 2012 have begun with nominations having now opened and will remain open until Friday 24th February at 5pm.

Nominating yourself is the first step on the path to Leading Your Union, so why not put yourself forward for one of the many Executive and Representational Officer positions available.

Executive Officers

The Executive Officers are the beating heart of student representation and the group which will Lead Your Union into the future. The Executive Officers Roles available are:

President
Accommodation and Community
Activities
Athletic Union
Democracy and Communications
Education
Equal Opportunities and Welfare
Finance and Services
Environment and Social Justice (Part-time)

With the exception of the Environment and Social Justice Officer these roles are full time sabbatical positions who receive £17k remuneration.

Representational Officers

If running to be an Executive Officer isn’t your cup of tea, then why not make a difference by running to be a Representational Officer?  With the exception of the Postgraduate Students’ Officer, all the roles are voluntary which run alongside your studying. The Representational Officers are:

Postgraduate Students’ Officer (Full-time Sabbatical Officer)
International Students’ Officer
Mature Students’ Officer
LGBT Officer
Black Minority Ethnic Officer
Women’s Officer
Disabled Students’ Officer

Key dates
Nominations: Wednesday 15th February at 9am – Friday 24th February at 5pm
Campaigning: Wednesday 7th March at 12noon – Friday 16th March at 5pm
Voting: Friday 9th March – Friday 16th March at 5pm.
Term of Office: 1st July 2012 – 30th June 2013
