Are you a student at Derby? You may be interested in some exciting news which will mean more opportunities and activities for you to get involved in!

As you may be aware, a recent decision was made by the committees of NAMA Derby and the University of Nottingham At Derby association (UNAD) to merge the two groups together, in anticipation of all UoN Derby students being located on the same site in the new academic year.

In addition to the UNAD social activities, this exciting merger will also give Derby nursing and midwifery students access to the existing UNAD groups, which include the following:

•    Swimming Club
•    Basket Ball Club
•    Hockey Club
•    Rugby Club
•    Climbing
•    Football Club
•    Netball Club
•    Yoga
•    Choir
•    Creative Arts Society

To support the merge, there has recently been an election for two Derby Nursing/Midwifery students to join the current UNAD Committee. The results of this election have now been verified and can be confirmed as follows:

•    Grace Cook             has been elected as the UNAD Nursing General Secretary
•    Nichola Froggatt     has been elected at the UNAD Nursing Social Secretary

Existing UNAD members (GEMs and Healthcare Science students) will also benefit from this doubling of UNAD's membership, as it means there should be bigger and better Derby based events and the development of more activities and groups.

Congratulations to both winners; there will be more information about other developments at Derby over the next few weeks so watch this space!
