As well as being an annual legal requirement, registering to vote means that you can have your say about local matters that will affect you whilst you’re living in Nottingham. Did you know that you can register to vote at both your home and term time address?
If you don’t register to vote your credit rating could be affected and you may find it difficult to get a contract for your mobile phone or bank loan.
Registering to vote is very quick and straightforward; you should have already been sent a form to fill in about registering to vote. Take a look it; if the details about the people living at your address are correct, simply register by:
• calling freephone 08000 251 070
• going online: www.elecreg.co.uk/nottingham
• or text 07797
If your details have changed, simply amend the form with the correct information and return it to Nottingham City Council in the envelope provided as soon as possible.
Even if you do not wish to register to vote at your term address you still need to return your form, you have until 20th November to get your forms in.
For more information go to the Nottingham City Council website.
