Employment Rights
If you are a student and working part-time or during the holidays, you will be protected by a number of workplace rights. These include the right to a national minimum wage, health and safety protection and protection from unlawful discrimination.
The TUC have produced a useful leaflet entitled “Your rights at work – A guide for students” which covers most of the issues affecting students in the workplace.
Likewise, the University’s Careers and Employability Service has information on your rights at work
If you have any questions regarding your rights in the workplace, please contact the Student Advice Centre.
