B-eat

B-eat is the leading UK charity for people with eating disorders and their families.  Our vision is simple - Eating disorders will be Beaten.

Eating disorders are serious mental illnesses affecting 1.1 million people in the UK.  B-eat provides helplines for adults and young people, online support and a UK-wide network of self-help groups to help people Beat their eating disorder.

B-eat @ Nottingham Uni is a student-run project.  We run a fortnightly self-help group for people affected by eating disorders, including sufferers, their family and close friends.

The self-help group will take place on a fortnightly basis starting 5th October 2011 in C4/5, Portland Building, University Park, from 7:30pm - 9:00pm.

As part of the B-eat self-help network our group is the first of its kind to be set up on a University campus.

While this group is open to everyone, whether a student or a member of the local community, we run this group on campus to provide accessible support for students who face many stresses which could initiate such an illness or aggravate an existing problem.
