About Us
The Student Volunteer Centre
The Student Volunteer Centre is based within the Students’ Union and is the place to find out about volunteering.
We offer you the chance to develop valuable skills and experience whilst getting involved and helping the local community or your Students' Union.
We work with more than 100 organisations, so whether your passion is art or sport, conservation or education - we have all sorts of opportunities to work with all kinds of people. And you won't be alone - this year over 3000 of you have already signed up to volunteer!
As well as helping others you'll be helping yourself to enhance your CV and be even more attractive to future employers. So, whatever your course, your interests or your talents may be we’ll find something to meet your needs.

Bridget Litchfield
Student Volunteer Centre Manager
I oversee all of SVC’s work, and I think I’m pretty lucky really. After all, I must have one of the best jobs in the Students’ Union!
Everyone who works within the Centre is committed to making sure that all of you find an exciting volunteering opportunity to meet your individual needs so that you have a great time doing something that you’re passionate about.
