Rambling & Hillwalking (RAMSOC)
Rambling and Hillwalking (RamSoc)
RAMSOC is one of the university's largest, friendliest and most active clubs, offering a different walking event and social every week. Escape term-time pressures with Sunday walks in the stunning Peak District, and explore further afield on our weekends away.
Where do you go?
We go walking every Sunday during term, primarily in the Peak District but sometimes further afield. We have five weekends away a year, which allows us to go to other regions throughout the UK to take advantage of different terrain, challenges and scenery. Our coach will pick you up at designated stops around Nottingham and drop you off again in the evening, to make it easy for all students at the university to take part.
When is it?
We go walking every Sunday during term time with five weekends away spread throughout the year. We also have different socials each Wednesday evening.
How much?
Membership is only £8 for the whole year, which entitles you to a 15% discount at Cotswolds outdoors store, with walks costing £8 each to cover the cost of coach transport. Non-members are also welcome to come on walks but it will cost £12 per walk. No specialist equipment or experience required.
