Ten Pin Bowling

Welcome to Nottingham University Ten Pin Bowling Club, which is open to all abilities, even if you have never bowled, just played with friends or have competed in a league before.

We meet every Thursday, 7.30pm at 1st Bowl Nottingham (previously known as AMF) please use the Directions tab if you are unsure. Our society is generally small but very friendly, membership is £5 and each week we play 3 games that will cost you £7.

In the first two weeks we will play bowling games to let everyone get to know one another. Then we run our own individual bowling league, for some friendly competition between all members in teams of two. Do not fear we will help organise teams so no one is left out and the league is handicapped to give everyone a fair chance. The scores from the league are updated regularly on our League website. As a member of the society, you are entitled to free shoe rental, 10% off food and drink as you bowl. And for you bowling fanatics any other times you wish to bowl your games will be discounted to £2.00 per game (ask for league practice) at 1st Bowl Nottingham.

Also the club enters some of its members to compete and represent Nottingham University in the British University & Colleges Sport (BUCS) and other national tournaments. We enter into tournaments across the country, as well as hosting our own tournament Notts Doubles. Our most recent triumphs can be seen on the News tab. But if that’s all too serious for you, we’ll have plenty of socials to enjoy instead. At the end of each semester we organise a meal for the club and once the league is finished there will be an awards presentation. Socials that we will run are; Glow Bowling, Pool, Casino, Pub socials and Bar crawls. All upcoming events will be posted on the Events tab, as well as on facebook and regular emails.

You can join our society by signing up at the Freshers Fair or online on the SU website. If you have any questions please email notts_bowling@hotmail.com
