The rugby club is one of the largest and most prestigious at the university. We have 5 teams playing every week, with our 1st and 2nd teams competing in the BUCS Premiership against some of the best student talent in the country. The rest of our sides play in the highest leagues possible at regional levels. The club has produced no fewer than 5 England student representatives in recent years and we maintain a strong link with Nottingham Rugby Club who play in the Championship, with opportunities for players who impress at university level to appear for the professional outfit.
The required commitment level is high with training taking place a minimum of twice a week, but we nevertheless maintain the importance of the club’s social section with socials being held weekly. We make an active effort to make new members feel welcome within the club of which we all feel very proud to represent and be a part of.
