The Motorsport Club has been in existence for over thirty years and continues to develop. The activities of the club can be split into participant and non participant events. On the participant side, we provide karting from beginner level up to national standard, encouraging development at all levels.
During the 2011/12 season, we will be running several arrive and drive events at the surrounding karting circuits. The committee will e-mail details out to members well in advance of up-coming events - so check your e-mails!
The club will be representing the University of Nottingham in the British University Karting Championship, competing against other universities from around the UK on large outdoor karting circuits. This competitive championship uses Club100 karts capable of 5-60mph in 4.5s - this racing really does get the adrenalin pumping. Times will be taken during the arrive and drive events and a competitive A-team assembled. The club's B-team will be made up on a first come first served basis. All participants in the BUKC will need to attend a test day. Please don't hesitate to get in contact with our BUKC Captain - Owen - for more details.
In terms of non-participant events, we will be making a few trips to spectate at motorsport events and car shows. If any member has a particular niche of motorsport that they wish to spectate, the committee will try its best to accomodate. As the 2011/12 committee we are always open to new ideas and appreciate feedback on our efforts
