Lacrosse (Ladies)

Ladies Lacrosse Club

Introduction:

The Ladies Lacrosse club welcomes players of all experience from complete beginners, for whom we offer coaching during training sessions, to advanced players. Sign up at Freshers Fayre and attend trials at the end of freshers week (1st October) either to compete for a position on one of our three teams, or just as a taster session.

Teams and Matches:

Both our 1st and 2nd team compete in the BUCS championship and our third team is for beginners who would like to play in friendly matches against other similar university teams. BUCS matches take place on Wednesdays. We also offer mixed lacrosse matches, which take place on Sundays, joining forces with the Men's Lacrosse club.

Tour:

We go on tour with the men's squad once a year (during the Easter holidays) to either Dublin or Spain - an event not to be missed! Keep an eye out for the second and third years wearing Tour stash, talking endlessly about Tour and look through our photo albums on this webpage to get a better idea!

Socials:

Weekly socials with the Men's team also take place after the Wednesday matches which are brilliant fun, especially when fancy dress is involved. We have a sponsorship agreement with Up 'N' Down Under a bar in town which is affiliated with the Bag O'Nails in Lenton as well as the Bluebell Inn which is also in town, meaning we can socialise with all the other sports teams and go clubbing afterwards or just out for a meal. Follow our social secretaries for more information, they will often email the theme a week in advance to allow visits to poundland and primark to perfect costumes. Photos of socials will be uploaded in various places for you to get an idea of how creative we can be.

Practice:

Lacrosse is definitely one of the funner clubs to be a part of as a slightly smaller club than others we get to know each other really well however we do take practice seriously and all try to go to the gym and for runs in our spare time. Practice times will be confirmed at trials on 1st October 2011.

How to keep involved and updated:

When you sign up to Ladies Lacrosse you will recieve emails to your university account through the Student Union system, however we have also found the most effective way is to facebook message the group so please join our facebook page..
