The Gymnastics Club encourages students of all abilities to be involved in the sport while at University. The Club uses a High-Performance Olympic gymnasium for training purposes in order to develop the strength and agility of all participants. Beginners are very welcome!
We have socials roughly once a month and they range from being fancy dress and crazy to the AU Ball at the end of the Spring Term/ beginning of the Summer Term before exams start.
We have a few competitions a year that anyone can sign up for, from beginners to advanced gymnasts. These are organised by our two competition secretaries Tomas Warwick and Steph Abbott, so if you have any questions about the competitions or what moves are required you can ask them through facebook or at any session.
Sessions take place on a:
Thursday at 8.00pm till 10.00pm ('Advanced/Non-Beginners' Session)
Sunday at 5.00pm till 8.00pm (Leisure Session)
For both sessions we meet at the bus stop on the road just below the Portland building. There are about 10 bus stops so just wait at the top one nearest Portland. We meet five minutes before the times given above.
There is also a Facebook group called “Nottingham uni Gymnastic”, you can only join this if you are part of the “uni. Nottingham” network on Facebook. For each session there will be a sign up post on the facebook page where you write if you are coming. This is important so we know numbers for transport.
For all those wishing to become members who are not already, join here for £10.
Look forward to seeing you!!
