Thanks for showing and Interest in the Nottingham Outlaws American Football Team. We are currently in the Midland Athletic Conference of the British Universities American Football League (BUAFL), the strongest division in the country.

As part of the British Universities and Colleges Sport body (BUCS), our season's performance is evaluated and contributes to the University's sporting excellence rating (the more matches we win, the more points Nottingham will receive which count to the National Rankings).

> This year for the first time we will be competing in the official national season kick-off match: xpLosION, hosted by the Birmingham Lions in front of a 6000 strong crowd at which Sky Sports will be filming!

> Before our 2012/13 season starts we will be going on a weekend long residential training camp in October, during which we will play practice matches (scrimmages) against two other teams to give everyone a feel for what competitive matches are really like.

> Once again we will be kicking-off the prestigious Nottingham Varsity series in February, when we play bitter rivals Nottingham Trent at the Harvey Hadden Stadium!

> LADIES we are looking to enter two 5 a-side teams into the national Women’s Flag and Kitted football leagues which are being established this year. Female players are eligible and more than welcome to join the full University team as well.

> We will also be hosting our annual Superbowl party at our proud sponsor bar Walkabout in Nottingham city centre, which is the biggest student Superbowl party in Europe!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've never played before, can I take part?

ABSOLUTELY! Most Outlaws have never played American football before they came to University. We have a expert coaching staff with national/international playing/coaching experience that will teach you all of the fundamentals and rules of the game.

Will I get in the team?

Unlike a lot of other sports, here at the Outlaws we do not have trials as such and no players are turned away. American Football teams are very large, with each player playing a vital role. We try to make sure that each player gets a chance to show their stuff on the field.

What about the Equipment?

As you can imagine, a new set of American football equipment can be very expensive. That is why as a part of your membership fees you will get all the playing equipment that you need rented to you for the year.

OK, How do I join?

The easiest way is to come to one of our training sessions, detailed below. You will need to bring comfortable running gear and suitable footwear for training on the sports centre's 3G Rubber Crumb artificial turf. If you miss the first session, don't feel like you can't join us later, as we are always looking for new players!

I'm not really interested in playing, anything else I can get involved in?

Certainly! We are always looking for volunteers to help out on game days. We can offer you free food and the NFL games on Sundays after our matchdays at our sponsors Walkabout. We also welcome purely social members on a Sunday to watch the football with us.

The Nottingham Outlaws play their home games at Grove Farm.

The address is: Lenton Lane, Nottingham, NG7 2SA
