Wine and Spirits Society
The University of Nottingham’s Wine and Spirits Society is a relaxed and friendly society which meets every Thursday (at your discretion) on University Park Campus. We run a variety of themed tastings throughout the year.
WINE- We have guest speakers and special events. In previous years we have had a fabulous December port tasting, a Valentine's themed chocolate and wine tasting and an amazing Champagne tasting too. We sampled Chapel Down, Vilmart and even Vintage Lanson and Dom Perignon.
An evening usually involves a selection of wines with cheese and grape platters and normally takes place 7.45 for 8.00pm on Thursdays in the Machicado Suite just past the bar in Willoughby hall. Tickets are usually £5 for members and £8 for non-members so why not sign up below for annual membership for just £5. With tastings nearly every week this term and into next year, this is a bargain!
The Call-my-bluff tasting and Bordeaux tasting with guest speaker were events not to be missed either! The tastings are informal and sociable. You can choose to learn as much as you like about the wines, or just enjoy drinking them with your friends!

SPIRITS- We are planning a cocktail making class in town and following the success of last year's vodka and whisky tastings, similar events are planned for the coming year. Our sponsors, Vodka Revolution, where we host our social events, also give all Wine and Spirits Society members a discount!

EACH WEEK WE EMAIL THE DETAILS OF OUR TASTINGS TO MEMBERS AND PUT IT ON THE FACEBOOK GROUP! AVERAGE PRICE IS £5 FOR MEMBERS. BRING ALONG NON MEMBER FRIENDS/FAMILY FOR £8.
TASTINGS USUALLY LAST 2 1/2 HOURS AND USUALLY INCLUDE BETWEEN 7-9 WINE SAMPLES.
OUR APPROACH TO TASTING IS RELAXED, ENJOYABLE, AND WE ENCOURAGE THE CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOL BASED ON ITS MERIT.
