Social Work Society

The Social Work Society is a brand new society affiliated in June 2011!
We aim to unite students who study Social Work as well as students who are interested in social work for personal or professional reasons. Anyone can join you do not have to be a social work student! Are you doing a different degree and considering post graduate training in social work? This could be for you!
The Social Work Society is a support network for those completing the Degree or Master’s programme in Social Work – if you’ve got any questions or queries regarding the course – post them on the Facebook page or send us an e-mail and someone will try and help you out!
We endeavour to run:
-          Talks from social workers – statutory and voluntary, PHD students, charity groups, care providers, service users and carers as well as others
-          Social events such as meals, pub quizzes, coffee mornings, relevant cinema or theatre trips etc.
-          Campus tours for new students joining the society
-          And much more!
By joining the society you will receive emails and updates as well as being able to attend events at a discounted price or even for FREE! There will be a charge for non-members and they won’t receive the emails or announcements; so it’s well worth the £3!
