If you join NUCA, you will be joining a society of the sound and sane. As Baroness Thatcher said: “It's always better where the Tories are”. We have a jam-packed year planned, in which we will certainly be living up to our reputation as the best political society on campus (if you don't believe us, just ask the Labour committee members who joined NUCA last year because our events were better than their own!!).
THE PARTY AND CAMPAIGNING
This year has seen our members up and down the country rallying the public to a range of Conservative causes: from BackBoris (a glorious victory!) to Taxpayers' Alliance Campaign Days and Policy Forums, we are right in the midst of political action. Also, campaigning and securing Party support on campus has never been more important than it is now, in the lead up to the 2015 General Election, where the fight for an outright majority will be fierce.

On the campaign trail.
SPEAKERS
In the past year, we have been lucky enough to host a number of prominent members of the party. These include: Roger Helmer MEP (the night before he defected), Lord Flight, the Chief Whip, Patrick McCloughlin MP, and our annual dinner with the Minister for Further Education, Skills & Lifelong Learning and NUCA Life President, John Hayes MP. This year looks to be just as good, if not better, with NUCA events already in the diaries of Ken Clarke, Steve Baker and David Davis.

TRIPS
NUCA loves a good old trip! Amongst these are: Party Conference in the autumn, the Young Britons' Foundation conference in December, Parliamentary rallies, and our annual Westminster trip in June. But that's just nationally – we go abroad as well, with a well-earned post-Jan-exam holiday to Toulouse in 2012!

SOCIALS
The part you have been waiting for... the events range from modest to messy – so take your pick!
'Port and Policy' – this infamous event, set in a hall library, sees the most controversial motions being discussed, copious amounts of port consumed and inevitable drunken toasts to Her Majesty the Queen and the Iron Lady. Watch out for the helpless President with his gavel, desperately calling for order. Port & Policy is followed by an After-Porty in some of the finest bars in Nottingham.

"To the Queen..."
'The Oktober Revolution' – last year, it was the Nottingham Fox Hunt; this year, we bring to you a bar crawl that relies on all the Tory comrades coming together (in the lashional interest), to secure victory against the Champagne Socialists. Get your berets and boots on as we take on Labour, the Lib Dems and the Greens!
For the classier and more civil amongst you, we do have a number of meals throughout the year including the annual Friends of NUCA dinner, a Christmas meal and the Rushcliffe Dinner.

If this sounds appealing to you and you want to become a member of the largest political party on campus, we would be delighted to have you on board. Membership of NUCA costs just £6 and includes Conservative Party membership (no other political society at Nottingham offers membership of their respective Party, as part of their society joining fee). Simply sign up to NUCA via this website and then join the Conservative Party online. We will then refund your Party membership cost.
If you have any questions at all, please do get in touch with our President, Jenny Huynh or contact us via Twitter or our Facebook group.
We hope you can join us for what is sure to be a fantastic year.
