Who are we?
We are the Nottingham University branch of the Conservative Party. Known to members as ‘NUCA’, we cater for all Conservatives and ultimately aim to play our part in keeping the Conservatives in government, whilst having a rewarding and fun time.
What do we offer?
All of our activities are completely optional and members can pick and choose the activities they wish to take part in, from those who are keen to leaflet and canvass, to those who would prefer to meet up for a drink with those with similar views to themselves.
Campaigns
Our key aim has to be to ensure that the Conservative Party remains in government, and NUCA can play their part in helping candidates locally, regionally and nationally. From leafleting and canvassing locally, to attending regional campaign days, and attending by-elections, Nottingham University Conservatives have the opportunity to get involved with all levels campaigning.
Speakers
Speaker Events are an important part of the calendar, and last year we were lucky enough to hear from prominent Conservative politicians including Ken Clarke MP, Baroness Pauline Neville-Jones and Nick de Bois MP. This will carry on over the next 12 months with a different speaker anticipated every month during term time.
Socials
One of the main aims of the Association is to get people together, meeting each other and making new friends. Socials are the best way for this, so look out for 'Port and Policy', informal drinks in ‘Mooch’, paintballing, curry nights, bowling, BBQs and many more exciting events.
Trips
As a member of NUCA, you will have the opportunity to attend Party Conference and Spring Forum, as well as other conservative events such as Young Britons Foundation events (e.g. Media Training) and conferences.
