SOCIETY INFO:
We are a really friendly society and our aim is to bring book-lovers together in a place where they can chat with people interested in discovering new books. Membership is £1, and we subsidise theatre and literary trips to make them cheaper for you.
We meet monthly for our book groups, which are on Wednesdays. Every month you, the members, can vote for three books in a specific theme. You can then pick which of those three books you want to read, and turn up and have a chat with us! It's really laid-back and we end up talking about all sorts of things and having fun. (Snacks included!)
We host regular book-themed socials in between these book groups. We aim for two or three per month -- usually on Wednesdays, but if a lot of people are interested and can't come along then we're happy to choose other dates. We see film adaptations of books at the cinema, go on theatre trips around Nottingham, organise trips to relevant literary places in Nottingham and England, and more.
Anyone is welcome in the society! Even if you miss several of our events in a row, you're still welcome to turn up as and when you can -- we're a friendly bunch!
