About the Society
The Bell Ringing Society is one of the oldest affiliated to the Nottingham Students' Union having been founded in 1958. We seek to promote and to teach the ancient art of change bell ringing. We welcome people of all abilities from complete beginners to the advanced. We ring weekly for practise and for Sunday service at All Saints church, Radford, Nottingham. We ring largely for fun but we do enter local striking competitions during the year.
If you have no ringing experience, we will provide tuition until you are competent to handle a bell independently. For those who already have some experience we will be able to help you progress with your ringing ability, and broaden your repertoire.
When We Ring
Ringing takes place at All Saints Church, Radford. Finding the church from campus isn't all that easy so a group of people will loiter on the Portland Steps in the first weeks of term to direct new members.
PRACTICE NIGHT: Tuesday 7:00 - 8:30 pm
SUNDAY SERVICE: 10:00 - 10:30 am
We also attempt a number of quarter peals and peals during the course of the year. Please check the website for further details.

Socials
Ringing is invariably followed by the pub where we have a chance to catch up with each others' lives during the course of the past week.
We organise a number of socials throughout the year and the calendar is always full and varied. From bar crawls to ice skating, there is always something for everyone. First semester is the busiest featuring the Freshers' Tour, Progressive Meal, Northern Universities Association Weekend and the Christmas Meal.
After Christmas there is plenty to look forward to, including: the Annual Dinner and Tour, Easter Tour and Summer Tour. Details of upcoming socials will be posted on here, and in emails to all members.
2008 has seen the 50th Anniversary of the society and to celebrate we hosted the 2007 Northern Universities Association Weekend. The Annual Dinner was also the biggest to date being held in the Council House ballroom with over 130 members of the last 50 years in attendance.
