Welcome

Welcome to T&G - Architects Lectures Society, the architecture society at the University of Nottingham.

The Student run Society holds both regular lectures from practicing architects and social events. The members comprise of students, staff, practicing architects and others interested in architectural discourse.

Membership provides free admission to the weekly lecture series, which culminate in questions and answers, this dialogue always continues as all concerned head to the café for complimentary cake and beer. Additionally the Society runs a series of purely social events, from BBQs to Balls.

In conjunction with the local branch of the RIBA, the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Society of Architects, many of our events act as CPD. NDSA also offers our members mentoring and work placements schemes.

The Society; took part in World Book Night, giving away copies of Seamus Heaney, New Selected Poems; supported Project Africa, congratulations to all involved; procured catering from the community run, not for profit, Crocus Café; took integral team roles during ‘Tour de Pasenville’; and hosted lectures and parties during freshers’ week.

The Society also now formally represents its member’s interests to the Department.

Involvement in the running of the Society, which is SU Gold Awarded and sizeable, is open to all. The benefits include recognised training, networking, and great experience.
