Punksoc 2011/2012!

 

What we are

 

Punksoc is Nottingham Uni's society dedicated towards bringing together those who share music tastes of the alternative: punk rock/ska/pop punk/hardcore etc.. persuasion.  We put on erotic gigs, we put on sexy socials, and we get you guys involved every step of the way. We're also very active in supporting the local Nottingham DIY punk scene, with strong ties to the local promoters, bands and gig goers alike.

 

What we do

So the chances are you're wanting see some gigs at some point, but you know pretty much no one to go with. That's where we come in! Punksoc runs regular meet ups to make the whole gig going experience a little less awkward and a hell of a lot more fun. Got a gig coming up with no one to go with? Drop us a line and we'll organize something.

 

We've put on a number of gigs in the past featuring the likes of A Loss For Words, Such Gold, Sonic Boom Six, This Is Hell, Fake Problems, and some of our committee have put on the likes of Catch 22 and Chief outside of Punksoc. Expect many more this year. We've also put on a couple of clubnights before which have been awesome fun, and we've got something in the works for this year so keep your eyes peeled.

 

Finally we're a sociable lot, and we'll be holding a number of socials and events this year. Check out below for details of what we're doing in freshers week.

 

What’s happening in Freshers Week

 

First things first, take down Scott's (punksoc president's) number so you don't get lost/separated. Drop a text or give him a ring if you've got any problems. Scott: 07787505930  Feel free to send emotionally crippling abusive texts to him.

 

Thursday 29^th September:

 

Meet and Greet + Campus Bar Crawl!

 

Meeting at LINCOLN HALL BAR at 8pm (it's on campus, at Lincoln hall as implied by the name..duh) then heading across campus to various bars to get a few brewskeees, or waters if you’re not way inclined J Come on down.

 

Friday 30th September:

 

PUNKSOC House Barbeque

 

Meeting at LINCOLN HALL BAR at 6:30pm (will wait until 8pm) and then head back to Punksoc house for a BBQ and a hangout. Good music and great company will be provided. BUT BRING YOUR OWN BEER/BEVERAGES and BRING YOUR OWN MEAT/QOURN/BAPS/CONDEMENTS.

 

Saturday 1^st October:

 

Meeting at LINCOLN HALL BAR at 8pm, getting a few drinks in and then heading down to the legendary Rock City for the Saturday night clubnight Hey Hey Hey. We’re Nottingham’s Best Dancers tch tch tch tch.
