You are speaking in public when you are making a passionate inspiring speech to convince your year to vote for you, when you are giving a shout out to your year, when you try to convince a room full of investors to go with your idea, when you try to convince a judge and jury that you are right and someone else is wrong, when you are giving a presentation or lecture to a lecture room full of students and even when you are one on one with an interviewer...
Words can capture the heart, capture the mind and capture the soul... and this is why I believe that public speaking is one of the most important skills you will ever learn.
OUR MAIN AIM IS TO
1) Get you to start speaking in front of lots of people
2) Make you AMAZING at speaking ... so that when you go up to make big speeches, election shout outs, talks, lectures and presentations that you STUN and INSPIRE your audience
We will teach you some simple techniques that will massively improve your ability to speak and make you sound so impressive
....then it’s all about PRACTICE, PRACTICE and CONFIDENCE and so will have the opportunity to practice and speak to the whole group
WE WANT TO TEACH YOU TO SPEAK LIKE OBAMA
We also play speaking games, improvs, balloon debates, analyse past speeches and speakers, watch films (Independence Day Speech anyone?)....
This is for anyone of any abilities who wants to improve their speaking to an audience
We meet every MONDAY from 6.30PM-7.45PM in LG11 in the TRENT BUILDING on campus
