(Sept 2010) - PhilSoc is THE academic society. Only philosophers know how to combine academia and socialising in such a way. Gone are the years of armchair philosophy. (2009-20010) - PhilSoc aims to support students in learning the philosophical skills of debate and argumentative analysis. These skills are important in taking a degree in philosophy and also in understanding everyday problems and situations; from war and veganism to marketing ploys and advertising gimmicks. So, if you are interested in the ethics of fur or whether we might really be in The Matrix, we might not be able to tell you the answers but we can show you how to find them out. -- Ben Mellor, President 09/10
