Singapore Society

The University of Nottingham’s Singapore Society (previously known as Malaysian & Singaporean Society (MSS)) aims to bring together Singaporeans and Malaysians through a wide range of activities such as sports events, socials, trips and film nights. We currently have over 120 members from many different countries - including the UK, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Hong Kong and Brunei. We also welcome students from other countries and cultures.

Our flagship event is the annual Nottingham Games, the longest-running student-run Singaporean event of its kind in the UK. The Games bring together more than 300 Singaporean students from universities all across the UK for a day of camaraderie and bonding over sports and games. Since its inception, the Nottingham Games have become one of the mainstay Singaporean events that many look forward to upon coming to the UK to study.

In addition to Nottingham Games, our society also organises a wide variety of events for our members, such as socials, trips and film nights. The Singapore Society also works closely with many of the other Asian cultural societies in Nottingham, and we often hold joint events with other societies.
