Welcome to the Hide and Soc - The Society of Childhood Games
We are a society who invite members of the Students' Union to come and re-live the fun of their childhoods - after all, who wants to totally grow up so soon? We meet up weekly and play a whole plethora of different games, including 40-40, Stuck-in-the-Mud, Bulldog (my personal favourite), Chase, and of course, Hide and Seek. We are also up for playing any childhood games that you may have enjoyed that we haven't heard of, in order to enrich our repetoire of games. What better way to bond with your new (or old) colleagues than to run around and let off steam? We welcome all members of all abilities - don't be put off if you think some of it sounds too rough! And whether or not you are a big fan of alcohol, you (and your major organs) are sure to find our style of socialising a very welcome break from the more 'traditional' events you may encounter as a student.
We not only play our weekly games on campus, but we travel further affield too. This year we hope to take a good old trip to the Nottingham Goose Fair in October - a local annual pilgrimmage. Additional to our xmas party, Boardgame Olympics and Sounds on the Downs day.
Games are now held on Thursday nights on campus. Come down and decide whether you're a hider, or a seeker...
