Nottingham Geography Society is THE society for Geography students, those with passion for Geographical phenomena and those who just want an amazing time!
What is GeogSoc?
The Society actually pre-dates the study of Geography at Nottingham and was founded in 1923. Nottingham boasts approximately 500 Geographers making us one of the largest student bodies in the University! We have a number of responsibilities at Nottingham which include raising money for charity, inviting guest speakers, organising sports events, raising Geographical awareness and ensuring that Geography students benefit from some of the best social events in the University.
Congratulations to the new committee members (whose shiny faces you will soon see on the Geog Soc notice board), we're all working horrendously hard to ensure that Geog Soc 11/12 will provide students - from freshers to post-graduates - with an amazing, jam packed and distinctly Geographical year.
What does GeogSoc do?
We aim to ensure Geog Soc traditions (such as the infamous Glo Ball) are kept at their optimum, so along with making Globall 2012 better than ever, we're also introducing some new events to your social calendar: how do a few adventure days out and a long weekend trip to a European destination tickle your pickle?
Event details will be finalised later in the academic year, but for now all we can do is tempt you with our ideas for 2011/12:
Whether you are a newcomer to Nottingham or a present student, make sure you join the Society either online or at Fresher's fayre in September. This will entitle you discounts on trips you won't want to miss out on.
Geogsoc 2011/2012 is a society not to be missed out on!!
Watch this space for more website updates...... : )
GeogSoc love xx
