WHY ARE WE THE RIGHT SOCIETY FOR YOU:
We organise social events for any students of Biochemistry, be they BBC, BG or just straight Biochemists. Our aim is it to integrate first, second and third years with another and to make sure that YOU have the best time of your life at the University of Nottingham!!
The science ball is definitely one of the highlights of the year. You receive champagne on arrival, a three course meal and a variety of entertainment throughout the evening! It is a really good way to celebrate the end of the easter term before exams with your coursemates and even some of the lecturers. Ask any of the second or third that went last year and they will agree.
We do not only organise socials, but we also want to help and support you with any problems you might have during your three year course! Our new parenting scheme is designed for all new students in the department of biomedical sciences in order to make your life easier during the first few weeks of university. You can ask your assigned parent (a second or third year biomedical science student) anything from book recommendations, lecture theatre location, or how to use your email account/ webct. They are here to help you. So watch out for the lists with the assigned parent for each individual student.
Moreover, we also take part in the intramural sports (IMS) football, so if that’s more your thing then speak to our Sport Sec Johnny Nunn for details!
