The Guild

The Guild is an extension of the Students’ Union onto Sutton Bonington and we are here to represent those of you studying on campus.

We provide the funding for the sports clubs and societies, many varied events through the Guild ENTs committee, welfare advice, access to all the services the Students’ Union provide and most importantly we represent you, giving you a voice to the University.
We are a group of students on various courses based at Sutton Bonington.

We are here for you, so please get in contact with us if you need help with anything and we will do our best to assist you.
Either come in and see us in our offices in the Amenities block or send an email to susbgc@nottingham.ac.uk

WHO’S WHO?

Guild Chair: Michael Neaverson

Guild Chair

I am responsible for all matters relating to Sutton Bonington Campus and a point of contact with the University, the School of Biosciences and School of Veterinary Medicine & Science.

Guild Vice-Chair: Lee Middleton

Guild Chair

I help out the Guild Chair and make sure that everything runs smoothly. I also organise elections for the Guild.

Treasurer: Phillipa Sleeman

Committee Member

I look after all the Guild’s money and resources. I make sure that we stay within budget and also ensure that Clubs and Societies have enough money to carry out their plans

Sports Officer: Freya Carlson

Committee Member

I look after everything to do with sport at Sutton Bonington. I help sports clubs to plan their activities, get new members and make sure that they are doing their best for you. If you can’t find the sport you are interested in then get in touch and I can either put you in contact with a club at University Park, or help you set up your own group.

Societies Officer: Emily Monnington

Committee Member

I am responsible for supporting all the Societies at Sutton Bonington. I make sure they have enough funding to provide their activities, help organise joint events and publicise the great things that they do. Come and talk to me if you have a great idea for a new society and I will support you to get it off the ground.

Campaigns Officer: Sarah Carr

Committee Member

My role as Campaigns Officer on the Guild is to support you to voice issues that they feel strongly about and ensure the welfare of students by providing services such as sexual health screenings and signposting you towards the Students’ Union and student services. In my role on The Guild I will also be raising money for selected charities, trying to bring back blood donations, and ensuring excellent recycling facilities on campus.

Equal Opportunities Officer: Adeel Khan

Committee Member

As Equal Opportunities Officer I will be giving a voice to the people of Sutton Bonington and trying my best to give them a great time here. I will ensure that everyone on campus is equally represented and everyone’s views are heard.

Biosciences Rep: Emily Roberts

Committee Member

I represent the views of the students within the school of Biosciences to the Guild and to the University.

Vet School Rep: Marise Curran

Committee Member

As Vet Rep I will do my best to represent the views of the students doing this course in all the decisions the Guild makes as well as pitching in with all the events/initiatives that the rest of the Guild and I will be organising. I'm really looking forward to getting stuck in, having fun and meeting all you Freshers in September

Bonington Banter Editor: Joanna Woodnutt

Committee Member

I'm the Bonington Banter Editor for 2011, so that means I have to collect, write and edit information for the monthly campus newsletter, then get it all to you! If anyone wants to write for the Banter, whether it's one article or a regular column, you can contact me on svyjw@nottingham.ac.uk
