About the Students' Union
As a student at the University of Nottingham, you’re automatically a member of the Students’ Union. The Students’ Union is here to help you have the best possible time at university and to support you if you ever need a helping hand, so make the most of us.
Your Students’ Union provides essential, everyday services such as the Students’ Union shops, the print shop and our on-campus restaurants. We also provide clubs, societies, events and activities throughout the year for you and your family. The Students’ Union also represents your needs to the University and nationally – so if there’s something you want to see changed, let us know! Just last year the SU lobbied to have a baby changing facility installed in the Portland Building.
In addition, we can provide you with advice, support and guidance on a range of topics like health, welfare, housing, accommodation, employment issues, legal issues and much, much more!
You can access the Students’ Union online at www.su.nottingham.ac.uk. We also have offices and services in the Portland Building on University Park Campus, the Exchange Building on Jubilee Campus, as well as in the Guild Building on Sutton Bonington.
Support from the Students' Union
The Student Advice and Representation Centre (SARC) offers a confidential service available to all University of Nottingham students.
The Student Advice Team (Welfare Advisers and Education Advisers) offer a confidential service available to all University of Nottingham students. We can give advice and information on a wide range of matters, such as housing, money, academic, employment and consumer issues.
The Welfare Advisers operate a 'drop in' service during our opening hours.
The Education Advisers can be seen on an appointment basis.
The Student Advice and Representation Centre is situated on B Floor in the Portland Building.
