Bonington Hall
Welcome to Bonington Hall - more than just a hall!
We are a 625 strong community and the life of the Sutton Bonington campus at the University of Nottingham. Situated on campus, you are never more than a 5 minute walk from lectures.
We boast a varied community of first years, returners and postgraduates, and put on some of the most memorable parties, including Rumble in the Jungle, Rollerbop and Full Moon party.
At Sutton Bonington, the community extends further than just the people living in halls. The campus community includes everyone who studies at Sutton Bonington campus but doesn't live in halls, bringing our total community up to around 1500. Despite this, you can never walk anywhere without knowing someone, and there will always be great people to talk to.
Bonington Hall JCR Committee
The Current JCR Committee is in post until 31st October.
President: Chloe Zaydner
The President is here to lead the JCR committee, liaise with the Hall Warden and Management, the Students’ Union and other stakeholders and represents your hall at the monthly Students’ Union Council.
Vice-President: Lauren Baker
Responsible for the JCR’s website, publicity and communications and undertakes all Presidential duties in the absence of the President.
Treasurer: Emily Windham
Prepares and manages the JCR budget, income and expenditure throughout the year and keeps the committee, residents, Students’ Union and University updated about the accounts.
Social Secretaries: Lydia Buckmaster and Izzy Robinson
Plan and run activities and events in your hall, organises publicity and ticket selling for events and liaise with Karni and Week One Reps.
Welfare Reps: Nina Babchuk and Joshua Lipschitz
Look after the welfare needs of the residents in your hall, represents your Hall’s welfare concerns to Hall Management and the Students’ Union runs welfare campaigns and is a member of the Students’ Union Welfare Rep Network.
News and Events
During the 2010/11 Academic year, Bonington Hall JCR ran many successful events together with the Sutton Bonington Guild including Funny Farm, a Full Moon Party, quizzes and a Summer Ball!
