Welcome to Lincoln Hall!
Lincoln is one of 12 catered halls on University Park. Situated on the edge of the Downs, Lincoln is in easy walking distance of the library and central campus buildings. Arguably one of the most attractive halls on campus, the blocks are built around a scenic grassy quad and the magnificent library creates a stunning focal point. Accommodation is the form of single study rooms, some shared study rooms and others which have private bathrooms between two study rooms.
As one of the smaller halls on campus Lincoln benefits from a unique community atmosphere and sense of closeness. You’re sure to enjoy your first year in such an inviting hall!
Lincoln JCR Committee
The Current JCR Committee is in post until 31st October.
President: Tom Burton
The President is here to lead the JCR committee, liaise with the Hall Warden and Management, the Students’ Union and other stakeholders and represents your hall at the monthly Students’ Union Council.
Vice-President: Joe Troman
Responsible for the JCR’s website, publicity and communications, co-ordinates the JCR committee elections and undertakes all Presidential duties in the absence of the President.
Treasurer: Louise Rickets
Prepares and manages the JCR budget, income and expenditure throughout the year and keeps the committee, residents, Students’ Union and University updated about the accounts.
Social Secretaries: Ali Jenkins and Tahima Rahman
Plan and run activities and events in your hall, organises publicity and ticket selling for events and liaise with Karni and Week One Reps.
Sports Coordinator: Matthew Gizzi
Coordinates your Hall sporting events, liaises with team captains for the intra-mural sports league, organises equipment and kit for your hall sports teams and represents your hall sports through meetings with the Students’ Union.
Welfare Reps: Milly Baker and Dan Schoner
Look after the welfare needs of the residents in your hall, represents your Hall’s welfare concerns to Hall Management and the Students’ Union runs welfare campaigns and is a member of the Students’ Union Welfare Rep Network.
Environmental Officer: Abby Mycroft
Liaise with the Students’ Union Environmental and Social Justice Rep to raise awareness and campaign about environmental issues in your hall, represent your Hall’s environmental issues to Hall management and the Students’ Union.
Library Secretary: Colette Davies
Makes sure that the Library is kept to its high standards by ensuring books are kept on appropriate shelves and other duties as required.
News and Events
During the 2010/11 Academic year, Lincoln JCR ran many successful events including a break to Amsterdam, after formal socials, Illusion Shows, Sporting Events against Derby Hall and a Summer Ball! Sports
Lincoln Hall takes part in the Intra-Mural Sports (IMS) League, competing against other Halls and Societies. In 2010/11, Lincoln had a team in the IMS Football League. Speak to Matthew, the JCR Sports Coordinator, to find out more about getting involved in the Football team or other sports which the IMS League offer.
