Nottingham Advantage Award
The Nottingham Advantage Award is a great way of rewarding extra-curricular activities like volunteering or getting involved with the Students’ Union.
What is the Nottingham Advantage Award?
The Award, created for undergraduates, is taught mainly through online tutorials, and is designed to be taken alongside your studies. It will look great on your CV as it focuses on personal as well as academic development, aiming to develop the kind of competencies, learning and evaluation skills that employers are looking for in talented new graduates.

If you decide to take on a bit more responsibility within the Students’ Union; for example joining a committee or helping with a project through the Student Volunteer Centre – you’re eligible to take part in the ‘Volunteering in the Students’ Union’ module, which is worth 10 credits towards the Nottingham Advantage Award.
You receive training in skills like leadership, assertiveness and project management so you can carry out your role even better.
What’s new this year?
Nearly all Award modules include employer involvement, from mock interviews and presentation feedback to lectures and workshops. This year, a number of modules will be delivered solely by employers, including Nottingham University Samworth Academy, Experian, Save the Children, Engineering Development Trust and Enterprise-Rent-a-Car.
