Your Union


You may not be aware but regardless of which centre you are
studying at (Boston, Chesterfield, Derby, Grantham, Lincoln, Mansfield, Nottingham), you are already full members of the University of Nottingham Students’ Union. Your membership is free and was automatic once you registered onto your course, so there’s no fee, no forms and no fuss! You are also a free member of the National Union of Students (NUS). You can find out more about how the Union works and more about the NUS and student discount cards, in this section.

The Students’ Union provides help and support for its members. The Student Advice Team for example helps students with issues such as; money and housing problems, course related issues and consumer difficulties. You can find more information about all our welfare services in the Advice and Support section. This section also contains information about the Course Reps system and how you can have your voice heard within your own school at your own centre.

A full higher education experience is also about personal development, learning new skills, meeting new people with different backgrounds and developing your own interests. This is where the Students’ Union comes in providing you with extra-curricular activities will allow you to have fun, widen your horizons and increase your employability!
