Healthcare Associations
Healthcare Associations are student groups that are locally based and provide: activities, services and opportunities for the students at their centre. There are currently active groups at the following hospital sites: Derby (both DRI and Derby City), Lincoln, Mansfield and Nottingham You can find out more information about each group in this section. There are also plans to establish a group for Boston and Grantham students in the near future. Students become automatic free members of their relivant local Healthcare Assocaitions when starting their course. Each Healthcare Association
is run by a local committee of student volunteers.

These groups are all affiliated to and funded by the Students’ Union, who provide continuous support to each committee in terms of: training, resources, advice and insurance etc. The on-site student committees tailor events and provisions based on the needs and requirements of their local student members and each Committee decides how best to use the resources and money provided by the Students’ Union.
What are the aims of each group ?
- To represent the University of Nottingham students at the centre where the group is based bringing forward their views to the Students' Union and the University
- To develop and maintain peer welfare and support structures for its members
- To encourage effective communication
between its members, the Students' Union, the University and the local community
- To provide social opportunities and events for its members
