The Education Officer is responsible for representing the view of all University of Nottingham students on academic issues, both within the University and nationally.
The Education Officer representing students on University committees and runs campaigns which members of the Education Network are encourged to get involved in.
They are also responsible for overseeing the Academic Representative system.
The Academic Representation Co-ordinator is responsible for co-ordinating the Academic Representative system.
They Academic Rep Coordinator is the main point of contact for

- School Reps
- Faculty Coordinators
Faculty Co-ordinators meet regularly with Course and School Reps, taking any un-resolved issues up the Education Network Committee. They also take campaigns out to individual Schools and departments.
The Faculty Coordinators can be contacted in the Education Network room.
There are five undergraduate, and five postgraduate Faculty Co-ordinators
- Faculty of Arts
- Faculty of Engineering
- Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences
- Faculty of Science
- Faculty of Social Sciences, Law & Education
Your Education Network Reps should be your first point of call if you're experiencing any general problems on your course.
Often their role will be simply directing you to the relevant member of your department. Sometimes your problem will be more personal in nature, and they will advise you to contact the Student Advice and Representation Centre.
The Education Network is in place to ensure that all your views are heard by the University and other external bodies. The Education Network is made up of the Education Officer, Faculty Co-ordinators, School Reps and Course Reps.
Your Course Rep is the first point of contact for any concerns that you may have. They can take your views and ideas forward for discussion at the Student Staff Feedback Committee and then update you on the outcome.
There are also School Reps who regularly liaise with your Course Reps in order to identify wider academic issues, and represent you to Students' Union Council.
There are five elected Faculty Co-ordinators who communicate between the School & Course Reps and the Education Officer. Any issues not resolved at Course Rep level will be passed up through this network to reach the Education Officer.
The Education Officer is the Students’ Union executive officer responsible for your academic welfare. She has regular meetings with senior University staff and is in a prime position to voice your concerns and make a real difference.
