  • Andrew  (he does all the Marketing & Publicity stuff)
  • Catie     (she deals with all the intersite students and Student-Led Projects)
  • Stephen  (he deals with all the other Projects!)

BRIDGET LITCHFIELD (SVC Manager)

As the SVC Manager, I work with students, the Community Officer, SVC staff, Board and Publicity Team to develop and offer exciting opportunities for students to get involved in volunteering.

Volunteering is, not only rewarding and fun, it can also be a great way to learn new skills and enhance your personal and professional development.

SVC currently works with over 100 local, national and international organisations offering lots of exciting opportunities for you to get stuck into during your time at University.

Alternatively, you might have a great idea for a potential project that you’d like to set up. If so, case SVC staff would be happy to help you put your ideas into action.

Whatever your interest is in volunteering - joining an existing project, setting up your own, or just getting involved in one-off challenge events - pop in and we can make it happen!

ANDREW KNIGHT (Development Worker / Marketing & Publicity)

SVC supports students in their desire to give something back and have as large and positive an effect as they can on the communities around them.

My role centres on highlighting the work of SVC and spreading the word as far and wide as possible.

Alongside the Publicity Team, I tell everyone about the fine work our students are doing aAndrew K : Marketing and Publicitynd how we’d love to get even more people and projects involved so that we can do even more!

I also coordinate SVC’s Challenges so if you want to dip your toe in the volunteering waters, give me a shout.

CATIE SMITH (Development Worker)

Here at SVC we’re keen to make sure we’ve got plenty of different types of opportunities to ensure we’ve got something to appeal to everyone.

My role involves working with existing projects, finding exciting new ones and supporting students to develop their own: particularly in the areas of the Environment, Healthcare and Social Issues.

I aim to make sure students get the most out of their volunteering and are given the chance to get out and show what good work students can do for the community.

If there’s something you’d like to see us doing or an organisation you’d like to see us supporting, let us know…..after all, we’re here for you!

STEPHEN BARTON (Development Worker)

My role links in with Catie’s and the aim of creating as many exciting volunteering opportunities for students as possible. However, I want to work with all those with a passion for Sports / Education.

I would also really like to enhance links with societies and sports clubs, and make the most of the skills and abilities students already have for the benefit of the community.

Perhaps you’re a member of a club or just enjoy sport or education. Whatever your motivation or involvement, if you’re interested in volunteering then come and tell us all about it!

VOLUNTEERS

SVC

Of course there'd be no point in SVC existing without lots of lovely volunteers, and luckily we've got 'em coming out of our ears!
We can always do with more though so if you're interested, just give us a shout.

If you enjoy SVC and volunteering so much that you'd like to get even more involved though, you can!

Later on in the year we'll be recruiting a Volunteer Coordinator, an Information Team, an Events Team and Database Volunteers to help out with the running of the Student Volunteer Centre.  Keep an eye on our News page to find out more.
