Help & Advice

The Students' Union has a number of support services that you can access from any site

The Student Advice Team

This team is based at the Student Advice and Representation Centre (SARC) at University Park Campus in Nottingham. The service is available to all University of Nottingham students (no matter where you are based). Most students get in touch by telephone or email and so whether you call from Boston, email from Derby or pop in from the QMC, you will still get access to the same friendly professional advisors.
Issue we can assist you with include:
  • Financial & Debt Problems
  • Accommodation and Landlord Issues
  • Course Related Issues (threatened course termination, plagiarism & academic offences)
  • Other areas we can help with include: consumer issues, council tax exemptions etc
For more information about the Advice Team visit their Web Pages

 Safety Alarms
Your Students’ Union provides subsidised safety alarms for our student members and these are available at all sites including: Boston, Derby, Lincoln and Mansfield. See the Your Centre Section to find out how to get them at your centre.

Night Line
Nightline is a student run, confidential listening and information service. Nightliners are on duty every night from 7pm-8am during term time to listen to any problem you may have. Whether you are stressed, worried about exams, having problems with friends or just want a chat, we are more than happy to listen. Your call will be welcomed whatever the hour. Find out more on their webpage
Student Networks
The Students’ Union also has a number of student run networks. These are in place to represent you in a number of different ways. Many of these groups also have a social as well as a supportive role for students. Generally meetings and socials take place in Nottingham, although you don't need to come along regularly to get involved and many of the Networks will offer support by email (they may even want to recruit you as their rep for your centre!)
The Networks Include:
